Government internships can introduce students to policy, records, public communication, research and service delivery. The experience is strongest when the student knows what problem they will observe and who reviews their work.
Read the assignment
Look for the host unit, duration, attendance expectation, field or office work, reporting line and expected output. “Intern” may mean research support in one department and routine filing in another.
Prepare a public-sector application

Distinguish an announced scheme from an old campaign
Government internship names are frequently reused in social posts after a cohort has closed. Verify the current intake on the responsible department’s domain and confirm the closing date, eligible domicile, graduation window, stipend, placement period and application channel. Examples of accountable sources include the KP Internship Portal and the federal Ba-Ikhtiyar Naujawan Internship Program information site. An archived notice can explain the scheme, but it is not evidence that applications are open today.
Read the placement conditions closely
Some schemes place graduates with private hosts, while others assign them to departments or project units. Check whether placement city can change, whether attendance is full-time, whether the stipend is guaranteed or subject to verification, and whether completion creates any employment entitlement. Do not assume that an internship converts into a permanent government post unless the official rules explicitly say so.
Prepare for document verification
Keep CNIC, domicile, degree or provisional certificate, transcript and a recent photograph ready in the stated format. If the program defines a graduation cut-off or age on a particular date, calculate against that date rather than today. Save the submitted application and any tracking number. Never pay a person for placement or send documents to a personal messaging account. If a scheme’s portal is unavailable, use the contact details published by the responsible department instead of following a replacement link circulated on social media.
